Got an early start to try to beat the heat as the temp forecasted was 90 plus! Hancock Notch in great shape, Cedar brook with some minor mud and wash outs. all avoidable. Hancock loop rooty and rocky as well as steep when climbing either north or south summit(s). Thankfully both steep trails to the summits were dry as the steepness on south loop as well as the scree on north would have made for a disagreeable time. The upper loop, between north and south was in fine shape with views of Mt Carrigain, the Osceola's and the southern Pemi. Great hike, it just need to be less hot / humid. |
