| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Large parking area at Livermore was mostly empty today. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
|
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
All brooks were small and easily crossed |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Mt Tripyramid Trail in good condition. The only downed trees were those on the ground which were easily stepped or straddled over. The yellow blazes on the north slides are faint in places. I didn't notice many trail markings on the south slide. On both slides it is best to make your own judgements.
The Livermore Trail had sections that were severely eroded starting just before the junction with the Mt Tripyramid Trail south end with the most extensive damage uphill from this junction. Since the Livermore Trail is a forest road there is sufficient width to allow for safe passage alongside these trenches. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
The slides on Mt Tripyramid would not be good for dogs. The Livermore Trail is good for dogs. |
|
| Bugs: |
There were many flying insects but I received no bites. |
|
| Lost and Found: |

| Comments: |
The dry surfaces made this a good day to ascend and descend the slides on Mt Tripyramid. Care must be exercised in areas with loose rock and sand.
Great views from the north slide. Also some views from the short side spur to the east of North Tripyramid summit, from two spots on Middle Tripyramid, and off the south slide.
The only other hikers I saw today was a group from a camp in Alton NH who were on a three day trip. |
