Lovely, lovely day with perfect temps, breezes and views. Can't wait to come do more of this ridge. I placed a bark cross at the true summit cairn in memory of Ken P., father of my friend, whose wake is today (and which unfortunately I couldn't make since I underestimated the drive time up to the trailhead from Gorham, darn it). As the quiet, peaceful meeting place of disparate trails that nonetheless united, the spot seemed fitting. Apologies in advance to any atheist, non-Christian or person who takes offense at such symbols in their wilderness. May all our mountain trails lead us to our own spiritual home. |
