Comments
Comments: A very cold day. Started at 6:40 am, -12 degrees, and barebooted the entire distance to Zealand Hut. Used MSR snowshoes from hut to Zeacliff and Zealand Mnt. Twinway trail to Zeacliff in good shape except for a few drifted places. Lost the trail several times in the open and exposed area near Zeacliff. A number of short detours around leaners and blowdowns. Side trail to Zealand Mnt marked with sign. But the side trail disappeared before reaching the true summit area. Bushwhacked the remaining distance. Kevin fell into a spruce trap. Used microspikes on the trip out from the hut. Back at parking lot at 5 pm. - 18.6 miles
