| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
No issues. Busy, but not jam-packed. |
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Rock-hoppable or bridged. No worries, except for a few slippery spots to negotiate descending Ammonoosuc. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Ammo Trail remains poorly marked and hard to follow in places. Even though I hiked it, up and down, last month, I had trouble following the trail in a few places. Some cairns or blazing in a few places on the uppermost half mile are very much needed. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw a few dogs out and about. Gotta take care to make sure your doggie has plenty of water above tree line, and be mindful of their paws on the rough rocks. |
| Bugs: |
A little buggy in the last stretch of Ammo and a bug or two ascending Jewell, but for the most part some bug spray suffices. |

| Lost and Found: |

| Comments: |
A red-letter day with 50-mile views, minimal winds and a high of 55* F. Great day for a first successful ascent of Big W. It was very hard, difficult descending Crawford and Ammo, but I made it! :) |
