Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All crossings on FWT easily done. Lots of improvised log bridges. Falls are spectacular now. Worth it just to hike up and see them.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One duck under on FWT. Boy Scouts out on the summit approach to Lafayette putting in some fine work.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Plenty of them out, though some looked to be suffering in the heat.
Bugs
Bugs: Black flies are getting thick. Nothing bit me until Greeleaf Hut. I used Deet from there on out. Wind at times on the ridge made it better.

Comments
Comments: Got a relatively early start and had the trail to myself until near the hut. Perfect ascending conditions on OBP. Dry, hot and buggy on the ridge. Ran in to quite the conveyor belt of people on FWT on the way down. Many opportunities to say Bonjour. Had to check the map to make sure I hadn't wandered off trail to Quebec ;)My first two 4k's. Great hike, great day.
