| Comments: |
a small group went up today and once at the hut, one group split to summit Washington and the other to hit some unexplored trails..Ammo was wet low but relatively dry above Gem Pool..then after brook crossing on ledge, frozen snow, monorail (patches) made going somewhat slow..we did not use traction but it could have been used..from hut on it was clear sailing..Camel, Southside and Tuck Crossover each had a snowfield in trail but they was solid around noon time...descending on Ammo the snow/monorail had softened and it was quite fun skiing down with boots..took Cog spur out...lady moving to Idaho wanted to hit NH high point and she picked a perfect day to do it..no wind really..ran into AMC guys doing some renovations at Lakes Hut...great day out |
