Today was part 2 of the November Thag and Uki show but we had Chase as a guest which is always so much fun. You know it's a good day when Chase says he has to pause to stop laughing before heading down a tricky descent. Edmands Path is a dream. There are some leaves down low but it's such a nice trail. It started drizzling on and off right after we started so some of the rocks were damp but the footing was still pretty grippy. Right below and above the waterfall there were some areas of ice but we just picked out way through. No need for spikes. The rain picked up as we broke out above treeline but the views were awesome. Up to Eisenhower the rocks were wet but with care we all did fine. It was a tad windy up high which was delightful. Heading over to Pierce, the trail was still wet but there was no ice and the footing was good. There are a few muddy areas in that stretch but our feet stayed dry. The rain stopped by the time we reached Pierce and things were drying out. The rocks on the back side of Jackson were dry and we had excellent traction. The slabs down the front side had dried out too but lower the trail and rocks were wet. Just use care and you will be fine. HUGE thanks to Thag for the car spot and agreeing to add a side dish of Pierce and Jackson only because I needed them. He only needed Eisenhower but we both agreed it was too nice a day to stop with just one peak. Who wants one peak when you can have 3 for the same price. This hike was brought to you by Dunkin. Stay tuned for part 3 tomorrow... |
