This was a route designed around keeping the wind at our backs for as much of the day as possible. I left the spikes at home and felt comfortable the entire day without them. Brad put them on from Jeff summit across the snowfield spot. Rime on rocks and only minimal slipping tho many baby steps were taken above treeline. Jeff had moderate wind, Edmands Col has a bucket on the sign (a fuck it bucket for full sunday sends), Adams was spicy (the winds made me cry), Madison hut was balmy (my cake ass crushed 2 massive cookies and an apple cider donut here), Madison summit was also spicy. Might have spent 60 seconds combined on the 3 summits. Howks were annoying ups and very windy where exposed. Pretty cushy mossy footing overall and so many leaves below 2000' on the ground (its now the season of the sticks down low). |
