Hiking Trail Conditions Report

	Trails:	Starr King Trail

	Date of Hike:	Monday, November 2, 2026

	Parking/Access Road Notes:	The low clearance Pupmobile made it in and out of the lot with no issues. I still took it slow over the 2 dips but she never scraped. There were about 6 cars in the lot today but plenty of room for more. No fee to park.

	Surface Conditions:	Dry Trail, Leaves - Significant/Slippery

	Water Crossing Notes:	N/A

	Trail Maintenance Notes:	Not a thing! The trail is in lovely shape and we admired what appeared to be freshly painted blazes between the 2 peaks.

	Dog-Related Notes:	No puppers seen today but this route would be excellent for doggos. Good footing for our 4 legged pals.

	Bugs:	Back in Hell.

	Lost and Found:	There was a single glove at the trailhead. We left it there.


	Comments:	Woo hoo! It's November which means SO many objectives. The number one priority is to get November gridded out for Thag so this was episode 1 of 3 of the Thag and Uki show. The trail was nice and dry with plentiful leaves down low. Just watch your footing here since some of the rocks are hiding and waiting to bite. Up higher the leaf litter isn't an issue so it's much smoother sailing. The muddy sections between the 2 peaks were pretty solid so we just walked right over them. The mud leading down to the little viewpoint off the back of Waumbek was slick. We got some nice views today and hung out on Starr King eating and eating. Huge congratulations to Thag for gridding out Waumbek. And thank you for working with my crazy schedule today so we could make this happen and bringing all the good snacks.
