 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Lower crossings up to Gem pool were easy; crossings on upper Ammo waterfall areas were monstrous with ice that spikes didn’t grip well at all so careful footing was needed there. |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
All mostly great: half a dozen high and low leaners/blowdowns on Jewell trail, but easily climbed under/over. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Wouldn’t take my dog this way until we have much more snowpack over the upper waterfall area. |
|
 | Bugs: |
None |

 | Lost and Found: |
Nothing of note |

 | Comments: |
Apologies for such a late report. This day was warm up high with low winds and dry rocks everywhere except the upper Ammo waterfall crossings and rock ledges, these were the worst ice sheets I have seen here in years; I fell on black ice at the first waterfall area above the Gem Pool but dry rocks above me plus knowing how much safer Jewell would be for descent helped me decide to continue on and used microspikes but still needed to use every tree and my pole and crawling to get up to the hut, then conditions were almost perfect the rest of the way except for one sheet of ice section in the trees before the Monroe Loop. (I expect things melted a lot since but seems like Ammo around the waterfalls is still hazardous as of Nov 2nd) |
