Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Lost a pair of OR shell mittens about 2 miles from the trailhead in the spruce on the left side (going up) about 1/2 way up the first long steep ledge ascent adjacent next to whatever stream that is. Put the mitts in the trees while we stopped to check navi because we couldn't believe this was the proper decent (it was).

Comments
Comments: Last things first because this is the important bit. TLDR: caution on the Ammo ledges! Descending Ammo any flat tilted ledge that did not have significant roughness was _very_ slippery on the upper parts of the trail. From the hut down to about 3500'. Even frickin' approach shoes would not stick, never mind boots. Surfaces you wouldn't think twice about treading on became your worst enemy. Even rocks in the woods were not immune, but at least you could luck out grabbing a tree branch. A spontaneous uncontrolled descent down those ledges is going to yield significant damage points. It was horrifying; you didn't know what to trust! None of us had ever seen anything like this. There was no apparent ice, black or otherwise, it looked like normal friendly ledge, yet the effect was undeniable. A weird combination of +/- freezing temps and just the right humidity is all we could figure. Slowest. Ammo. Descent. Ever. *Probably* with the warmer weather coming the conditions will improve, but for the time being, double check your footing up there!

Oh yeah, the rest of the hike was tiring but uneventful. Spot ice lurking a few places, basically what you'd expect.
