Comments
Comments: lots of emerging trout lily and trillium in the lower hardwoods. brooks were a bit high so we used the bridges and some short open bushwacks. much flowing water and fresh soupy mud in places. chunks of icy mono rail started above garfield pond trail..we put on spikes there. decent footing to the summit on mostly solid rail with kicked in steps. nice to run into gary and justin and friends on the summit. a couple of bright moments but no real views today.. todays hike worked out great and we were back through the notch before the rain started. nice day out with valerie. really enjoyed Gary's great plant identification skills
