Comments: This was a great 10.3 mile 2,366 total ascent adventure hike. Hiked up to w ridge trail e and took a right and headed over to east peak & pinnacle. Great northern views to the Whites from there. Also great view of the Ossipee’s. Went back to ridge trail and headed west. Nice views on the way over to the ski lift. Went further to the west peak spur trail then went up to west peak. Beautiful views from there. Then I went back across the ridge which had some steep ups & downs till I got to balancing rock trail. Checked out balancing rock which was very cool. Then I ventured on to the bulkhead…. GPS helped since I lost trail 3 times but not for long. Steep going down to the bulkhead. Great views from there…. Especially kearsarge. Then I got on an unnamed trail and eventually came to a spur trail that led me to Mud pond. There is a shelter there. What an amazing place and the colors were beautiful. Eventually followed some old logging roads/paths that connected me back onto the Ragged mountain trail then quickly to my truck. Amazing day…. Saw only 4 people all day. Super fun hike.
