| Comments: |
Morning fog almost caused us to rethink our trek, but the day turned out really nice. Polecat was more solid in the AM with some snow and dry areas. In the PM we postholed and it was also getting muddy. Wildcat Ridge Trail over to Wildcat A in the AM was mostly icy on the remaining monorail with ice on the steeps. We thought we would have problems coming back, but it warmed up nicely and we had minimal issues on the return trip. We barebooted the whole day using caution and using trekking poles. Light traction would have worked well too, but we would have been putting them on and off all day. |
