Failed to make the crossing just past the tent sites. Rocks were very icy, I dunked both feet before I reach the downed tree. Tree was also very icy I was told, shimmering across was the only was after you climbed thru the limbs. 3 ahead of me all got wet early & turned around. Temps were in the mid 20’s so everything was frozen. Best bet would have been wading with trash bags as levels are low. I had bags but I changed socks & hung out for a bit but my feet up to my shins were cold so I called it. Glad I did, still cold once back at car. Doesn’t look like Lincoln Woods is going to be open anytime soon according to the ranger I talked with. Gonna make for a tough winter get |
