Comments
Comments: Went up Carlton Notch Trail, went down Underhill Path, and followed Four Soldiers Path to Pond of Safety. I used Four Soldiers Path and Jimtown Logging Rd to get back to the car.

There are supposed to be very limited views on this loop. The clouds were hanging low. So, I didn't even attempt to go around Pond of Safety for a view of the Presidential Range. I did follow the view spur off Four Soldiers Path near the heigh of land. Unfortunately, that was in the clouds.

There are lots of wet leaves on the trail and the bog bridges are very slick. Despite the hazards and even without the views, this was a pleasant walk. Pond of Safety is beautiful and serene. The woods are somewhere between peak foliage and stick season, but it's still gorgeous in there.
