 | Comments: |
Garfield trail was dry to about 3500 ft. Crampons were very helpful along the Ridge Trail though the summit was dry. Garfield Ridge trail from tentsite to Galehead was alternating snow/dry making crampons inconvenient but sometimes necessary. Galehead trail to Hut was packed snow and ice as were the trails to Galehead and South Twin, barebooting is possible but traction is recomended. Warm weather will surely melt these trails in another week or so. The new shelter at Garfield tent site is absolutely beautiful |
