	Date of Hike:	Saturday, August 29, 2026

	Parking/Access Road Notes:	No parking spaces available at the Old Bridle Path trailhead or by Lafayette Place just after 7:00AM. Ended up at Tramway parking which was filling up with vehicles. I did not use the hiker shuttle.

	Surface Conditions:	Dry Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail

	Recommended Equipment:

	Water Crossing Notes:	The Dry Brook crossings on the Falling Waters Trail were easy as the water levels are low. All other significant brook crossings are on bridges.

	Trail Maintenance Notes:	Trails in good condition. One 4" diameter striped maple about 3 feet above ground across the Falling Waters Trail at low elevation. Not hard to get over. Some trees across the Greenleaf and Falling Waters Trail at 5' to 6' overhead. Easy to go under. Some plank bridges on the Pemi Trail are broken but there is enough structure still in place to make them useful. One bridge near the outlet of Profile Lake on the Pemi Trail is in poor condition, howver there was no water in this spot so it didn't matter.

	Dog-Related Notes:	Fine for dogs. Saw lots of dogs out today.

	Bugs:	Saw a few bugs flying about. Not bothersome.

	Lost and Found:


	Comments:	Most of the surfaces were dry including the frequently wet/slippery section of the Greenleaf Trail between Eagle Pass and the hut. There were some wet ledges and a short section of running water on the Falling Waters Trail in and around Cloudland Falls. Lots of scree walls and roping on the Franconia Ridge Trail to keep hikers off the alpine vegetation. Met one volunteer at the hut and three volunteers on Little Haystack. Met the Yale orientation group including one student from Mauritania. Met a hiker from Shanghai China at the hut. Also met multi-day Pemi Loopers and AT thru hikers. Also saw a man I met Wednesday on Mt Jefferson. Met three rock climbers on the Pemi Trail. Great views above tree line. The waterfalls are nice on the Falling Waters Trail even though the water levels are low.
