Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: There was plenty of parking at 7:15am and when I finished the lot was still only about 2/3rds full.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Easy rock hops today
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There is a new blowdown on the Falling Waters trail less than .5 miles in that is at an awkward height. It was too tall for me to go over but too low to go under. I sort of went around it. All others are step overs.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: No puppers seen today. What the heck? This route is pretty dog friendly. Just bring plenty of water for them.
Bugs
Bugs: Not an issue today at all.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: There are a number of clothing items all along the Falling Waters trail. I mean enough that I was pretty sure someone was naked. No naked folks seen though.

Comments
Comments: I checked the weather both last night and this morning and thought I might score a weather window. Nope. Today was a reminder that Mother Nature always calls the shots and I am just along for the ride. The trail was pretty dry to start with the usual areas of running water and mud. Everything was totally socked in on the ridge and there was a light misty rain. Visibility was not an issue so I was very comfortable continuing. Even with the damp conditions, the rocks were grippy. I met quite a few friendly hikers and crossed paths with many headed to the hut. The clouds made for a really nice day. Sometimes gray moody days are the best days!
