|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Water levels are low. The upper crossing on the Brookside had some slippery rocks |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails in good condition. The only tree fall was on the Scar Trail about 0.1 miles from Valley Way. One can either go over or under this large tree.
There is a temporary sign for the Pine Link Trail at the junction with the Watson Path.
I saw that there were recent tree cuts on the Watson Path and Brookside. A few overhead trees on the Watson Path that are high enough above the surface to cause no problems.
I didn't notice the signage for Tama Fall. Perhaps I missed the sign. I did see the fall.
The tree line warning sign on the Watson Path is still readable but is fading. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Fine for dogs. Care must be taken in areas with the mica schist rocks that can cut paws. |
|
 | Bugs: |
Some flying insects at the summit of Mt Adams. |

 | Comments: |
The trail surfaces are dry making for great footing. The few mud spots were very small.
I made sure to include some of the RMC wild and scenic paths in my hike. Often, these paths have little to no traffic, a mixture of cushiony walking surfaces and rugged terrain, and interesting sights.
As usual, great views in the alpine zone.
Lots of other hikers on Valley Way, Air Line, Gulfside, and Osgood trails but no other hikers on Scar, Watson, Brookside, and Fallsway.
Walked a good portion of the way up to Mt Adams on the Air Line with a NJ couple originally from Poland. Some AT thru hikers and section hikers.
My route took me by Salmacis Fall, Tama Fall, Lower and Upper Salroc Fall, and Gordon Fall. |
