Comments
Comments: Ravine Road is still closed and gated, but it goes quick and easy. Trails were pretty much dry until around 3500' or so. Snow is getting wetter and more dense, but provided good enough traction to bare boot to the summit with a few slips, but nothing serious. Microspikes might have been the way to go in hindsight. The ridge to South Peak was easy, but spikes are the way to go for the little spur trail to the top of it. We almost missed the spur trail, so if you have not been there, you have to turn right (coming from main peak) onto the Glencliff Trail for a few steps before you can clearly see the sign to the south summit. Wore spikes down for the 1st 1000' or so then we took them off for the rest of the day. A great hike to do on such a gorgeous day! We didn't see a soul until almost back to the Ravine Lodge area.
