Comments
Comments: Started at the cog lot, did the relo for the first time which will be a complete mudpit in paces when its swampy. Nice grades that made me think of being back on the PCT. Cranked it up to the hut and chilled there for awhile Easy up and back to the summit than went for a kayak round upper Lake of the clouds (lifetime bucket list item yeehaw). Very quiet once we crested over the height of land and dropped down into the wilderness. More brushed in and way more annoying firwave blowdown patches than remembered last time I did the headwall in August of 2021 (5 years ago wowsies). Lost the trail in one spot and went down on one knee after taking a blowdown to the face in another. We enjoyed a long siesta break at the shelter, visited the falls, did a funsies redlining sidequest to cross the dry river twice and meander up to the Mt Eisenhower trail jct on Dry river cutoff and back down. Washouts are similarly eventfully mild as usual and we were ecstatic for the flat last mile out from the wilderness boundary to the road. George seemed surprisingly excited about getting to live and experience Monday adulting again
