 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Easy rock hops. Levels are so low right now. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
There is a new blowdown on the Carter Dome trail about .75 miles from the junction with 19 Mile Brook. It's an awkward height. Fun sized folks like myself have to go under but that does require crawling. Other than that there are some duck unders and step overs but that's about it. Most of the bog bridges are still in nice shape. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
I saw 2 good puppers starting out as I was finishing. They both got pets. This route is fine for dogs. The footing is quite good. Just bring extra water. |

 | Bugs: |
Nowhere to be seen. Cue my Snoopy happy dance! |

What a lovely way to start my day. I didn't need Carter Dome this month thanks to grabbing it last year for a calendar day so this was an easy day with just Middle and South Carter. The trail was damp from the rain but that actually helped with footing. The rocks were mostly dry so they were not slick at all. I silk blazed all the way until I was descending the Carter Dome trail and met my first hiker of the day. The bog bridges were wet from the rain so I was a little cautious on them having wiped out many time before... I saw 11 happy hikers today all who seemed to be enjoying the day. The cool windy conditions made it feel like Fall. What a stellar day! |
