| Comments: |
Trail is virtually snow free until dropping into the gully for the second Tecumseh Brook crossing - decent amount of ice monorail in that area. Trail is then barebootable again up to maybe 3000 or so feet, at which point the ice monorail gets wider. Light traction a good idea for ascent. There may be a short period in the coming days in which some may feel more comfortable with Hillsounds or crampons for descending this, as the ice is slippery (wet) and firm, with little to no room to avoid.
Ice monorail on the ridge, but it's going quickly. Backside of Sosman loop to summit is melting quickly. Sosman Trail to top of ski area still has ice monorail, but that's melting fairly quickly as well. Still plenty of snow on the ski area, but one can navigate the patches decently.
Wildflowers coming out on lower Mt. Tecumseh Trail. Yellow violets in bloom, two trout lily (a bunch more coming soon), and some trillium not far away. |
