 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Plenty of parking at Crawford lot and Webster Jackson lot at 8am. All parking was jam packed a few hours later. |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
|
 | Recommended Equipment: |
|
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Everything could be hopped. A few spots up high were puddling up but well placed rocks helped get through them. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
One new blowdown ~2 miles from the Crawford Path trailhead is easily avoided and can be cut up quickly with a hand saw.
Lots of raking will be needed on Crawford come this autumn. We cleared up half a dozen drainages up high by hand, but a bunch more were already getting clogged down low. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
3 dogs and 0 bites. Big win for both Scott and I today. |
|
 | Bugs: |
Only one, and it flew directly into my throat, resulting in some dramatics as I tried to cough it up. |

 | Comments: |
After an 11 day west coast swing it was time for me to pay my fitness dues and suffer through a short, humid hike. Finally tried out the bushwhack up to Eisenhower which is steep, but very rewarding once you break the tree line. Will have to do it again on a clear day.
From Eisenhower down it was exactly as you'd expect - foggy, damp trails with some puddles, and lots of people. The perfect day to get my legs back under me and work off a week of ballpark and conference food. |
