Recommended Equipment

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All water crossings are easy to navigate as of this afternoon. Not sure what all happen tonight or tomorrow.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Probably a dozen or so blowdowns from trailhead to summit. One at around 2.5 miles in requires some type of decision of whether your going to find a way around or to ‘saddle up’. 2nd bridge on York pond trail is at the end of its lifespan and both planks look to have recently snapped.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I’d politely ask that if you are going to enjoy your time on a summit, which is one of the enjoyable parts on a hike, that you either leash your dog or be a bit more aware of their tendency to protect you and your family. I am aware that I move fast on the trail but I do my best to make people and pets aware of my proximity in plenty of time. Enough said on this.
Bugs
Bugs: Around on descent. Deer flies seem to be aggressive in tall grass and bush areas that were being hit by the sun. And two got my right as I came on to the gravel road at the end.

Comments
Comments: Cabot is enjoyable to me. Some minor mud spots considering what it can be. All of the flat areas that tend to hold water and turn muddy around the trail junction at 3,000 feet were dry. Some minor spots of wet trail on descent around 3,400-3,500 feet. All in all, another beautiful day to be outside.
