Parked at the Smarts Brook trailhead. There's room there for at least twenty cars. |

Sandwich Mountain Trail crosses Drakes Brook close to the trailhead. The crossing was easy today. |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
About 1.5 miles from the trailhead, Smarts Brook Trail needs brushing. For some reason, the canopy is thinner in this area and there is lots of new growth crowding the trail. Just below the Drakes Brook Trail junction, there is a blowdown blocking Sandwich Mountain Trail. You can just squeeze through some branches sticking up from the blowdown. No doubt, some hikers will find it easier to go around (off trail). |

My route was up Smarts Brook Trail and down Sandwich Mountain Trail. I used a bike to get back to my car at the Smarts Brook trailhead.
It was very pleasant walking up the valley of Smarts Brook. Great views south and east from Jennings Peak. |
