Parking/Access Road Notes: Our crew of 3 were the first in the lot today. Upon my return, there were cars parked alongside the road.

Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: I brought my waterproof boot covers because I was concerned the levels would be too high for me to rock hop. Nope. Super easy!
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There are several step overs along Bunnell Notch trail and a few duck unders on Kilkenny Ridge trail. Us, vertically challenged folks had no issues but the taller folks needed to watch their heads.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: No puppers seen today but this is a really nice route for them. Just pack extra water because once you start heading up, there is less water available.
Bugs
Bugs: Not a bother at all today except for the one I inhaled at the cabin.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: The shirt from last month is still hanging on a tree along Kilkenny Ridge trail above the view point for Bunnell Notch.

Comments
Comments: What a GREAT day! I teamed up with 2 of my very favorite partners in crime and we hadn't seen each other since June (grid stuff, ya know). Much laughter and catching up was done. The trail was wet from the rain and there were some pretty epic mud pits but most were pretty avoidable. I think Steve stepped in the worst of them so Chase and I knew exactly where not to step. The rocks were all wet still but most were pretty grippy. We tagged the summit and I returned the same way I came and they headed off for the Bulge and the Horn. This was another great reminder that my favorite thing about hiking is the people. I just had a goofy smile on my face the whole morning. I saw a total of 10 happy hikers today.
