We found a spot to pull off the east side of Cates Hill Rd, just below the driveway for 168. There seemed to be some places one could pull off above here as well.

OK this one is confusing because there are TWO powerline swaths in the area and most reports don't specify which one they used.
There's the major powerline swath that crosses cates hill rd around 1650ft. Then there's the minor powerline swath servicing just the summit infrastructure that crosses Cates Hill Rd around 1825ft. I wasn't excited to do the major swath given the elevation difference. The minor swath looked overgrown from the road, but we had great luck finding and old ATV trail from Cates Hill Rd, 50-100 ft south of the minor powerline swath. Followed this up until it started veering too far south, then whacked then found the minor swath again which was not overgrown on the top 1/3. Quick jaunt to the summit (no trace of jar/string/ribbon) and quick jaunt back down.
Round trip was under 30 minutes. This is the way.
