Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Partridge: I am assuming this new trail is still a work in progress. Blazes are up but the corridor needs brushing in places and there are currently four blowdowns. Noted one trail sign on a post that has either fallen over or hasn't been installed yet. Whippoorwill: Blazes were nailed all the way into trees and are now being pushed out and will need to be replaced. The corridor needs brushing/limb trimming between the ridgecrest and the snowmobile trail. Spencer Smith: Blazing has been poor on this trail for many years and remains so. I recall a couple blowdowns. General: As the trail system here continues to expand, new and consistent signage is needed at all junctions.

Comments
Comments: A visit to Parker Mtn. in Strafford this morning before the rain to check out the new-ish Partridge Trail. Together with Whippoorwill Trail, there is now a nice loop that visits some of the most scenic spots on the mountain. Having additional trails here makes Parker much more interesting and Whippoorwill passes some nice view ledges along the ridge.

Some additional blazing, corridor cleanup, and consistent signage will make this a really great trail system.

During the hike, everything was bone dry. I seemed to have timed things well because light showers began as soon as I got back to the car. Saw one small group that had hiked in from Rt. 126.
