 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
There were 3 cars in the lot at 6am. When I returned there was 1 additional car besides mine with plenty of room for several more cars. |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
There are a few blowdowns still up high but they have been de-limbed so you can go over or under them. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
I saw one happy pupper with their person. This is a great route for dogs but there is no water available so bring plenty more. |
|
 | Bugs: |
It was a skeeter-fest down low. They greeted me warmly in the parking lot and began their attack immediately. Bug spray was helpful until I sweated it all off. Several joined me for my ride home so if anyone saw a woman in a little white car furiously swatting them against her car windows while cramming chips in her mouth, that was me. |

 | Comments: |
With the impending heat and possible dicey weather, I opted for something close to home that wouldn't take too long. Fueled by THREE PB and J sammiches and the thought of cheddar and sour cream potato chips, I was on my way at 6am. The C-M trail was in excellent shape. The footing up to where the ledges start is great and makes for fast hiking. The ledges were all dry so it was an easy ascent and descent. Despite seeing 3 cars in the lot when I arrived, I saw no one until I was well on my way down and I cleared spider webs all morning so I guess those folks were doing a traverse? The forecasted heat was not an issue at all and there was a lovely breeze all morning. I was down, home and showered before lunch. Literally a perfect morning! |
