 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I thought long and hard about taking the old road just to the north, which looked to be in better shape and maybe drivable for a bit, but elected to take the standard route. |

I hadn't seen a non-winter report for this route in awhile so was worried about regrowth, but it was honestly lovely.
We stayed right at the immediate fork in the 'trails'. The right branch was less of a road and more of a moose path initially through some brush with tons of moose tracks. But that was short lived before it opened up and turned into a pleasant walk on an old road. Would be less fun if it were wetter/muddier though. Followed this path through an overgrown landing (stay low/left here) and then ascended a skidder path (look for the eroded left bank to mark the start of this). Skidder path was ferny at times but very helpful and took us very close to the summit. Jar is the southern edge of the northern clearing. Retraced our steps back.
Took about 35 mins up, 25 mins down. |
