Seven or eight crossings on Castle Ravine Trail were running high. Had to wade in up to my shins on almost all of them. |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
RMC looks like it took cut several blowdowns, but about a half dozen still remain, all below the dangerous-conditions sign. |

Saw a few, one bounding up the summit cone. |

Black flies were bothersome on the upper reaches of Castle Trail. |

Beautiful and challenging day in the Northern Presidentials. Castle Ravine was tough because of the relentless water crossings, following by the steep boulder stretch where you had to measure your footing and take your time. Going down Castle was slow for similar reasons, but glad I did the loop this way so I could see the vast ravine I climbed up. Only saw two people on Castle Ravine and Castle all day. |
