Parked at a pulloff/gate 0.50 on "Spur Road 34-71-9" which is off Hedgehog Road. Cedar Stream Road is great condition with the exception of stretch between mile 4.5 and 6.1. At/around 6.0 there is a very bad washout that I was able to clear with a Crosstrek, but I was darn close to bottoming out. Thankfully, I skipped breakfast. Dead Diamond Loop Road is cruiser, too. |

A FINE morning in the forest - hike 1 of 3 today. Leaving the gate and heading due south along an ATV road, we then headed due west from a height of land with a view. There is an obvious entrance for human traffic here. This was a very easy summit, wide open woods and a pleasant hike. The 2 miles took us one hour to cover, door to door. |
