Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: The parking lot is large and can hold quite a few cars. I would say there were about 15 cars in the lot upon our return.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The water crossing is absolutely not rock hoppable and you will need to wade it. Our crew used a variety of techniques with good success - waterproof boot covers, crocs, bare feet, and just walking through it. It was knee deep or thereabouts on a fun sized human.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There are a few blowdowns along the way but nothing too tricky.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Muzzy was the king of the trail today and kept a close eye on our crew and ensured we were safe from renegade rodents. The trail is in great shape for doggos. Less experienced pups may need some help with the water crossing.
Bugs
Bugs: None were out until the way out and then the mosquitoes were out in full force. Bug spray worked great to keep them at bay.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: We found a plastic water bottle and Cyndi packed it out.

Comments
Comments: What a great day and great crew to celebrate Tracy's 48 finish! The road walk was quick and easy. There is one new blowdown on it, but you can easily get around it. A lot of the trail is still quite wet and muddy due to the rain. The mud is minimal in some places and deep and squelchy in others so choose your route carefully. The steeps up to Misery Mile were wet and water running down the trail. Misery Mile alternated between moderately wet trail to almost dry trail in spots. Signal Ridge was dry and the views were lovely. It was quite windy so we didn't linger long and made our way to the summit. The trail was driest in that section. We did climb the tower despite the strong winds to further celebrate Tracy's awesome accomplishment before descending and eating all the cookies. This was a stellar day with such a fun crew!
