Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Our cars were #s 2 and 3 in the small lot next to the trailhead but there is plenty of room across the way in the lot for Unknown Pond. No fees in either lot.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All were rock hoppable except the largest crossing. I used my spiffy and fashionable waterproof boot covers and my friend switched to crocs. We did this in both directions.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There is one large blowdown on Bunnell Notch that requires going over. Someone kindly de-limbed it but us shorter folks have to really swing our legs over.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Sadly we saw no puppers today but this route would be excellent for them with lots of water along the way until you get higher up.
Bugs
Bugs: Clearly someone likes us because we had no issues with bugs at all today! It was nice and cool to start which helped.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing lost and nothing found

Comments
Comments: What a great day for this one! The trail is a total stream with lots of mud and you will get wet and dirty but that's half the fun. The rocks along the way are wet from all the runoff so use care. Things didn't really dry out until we were above the cabin and even there it's still wet and muddy in places. It was lovely to see Lee and her daughter today. We saw quite a few happy hikers enjoying the lovely weather. Another great day on the trail!
