All were easy rock hops. I was concerned about this after last week's rain |

A good breeze kept things reasonable, but the black flies sure pounced when I was in the scrub or the breeze died down |

Lovely day in the Evans Notch area. I had not been up here in many years. Treeline here is at about 3k, so there is a nice long stretch above treeline with a very nice alpine feel. Great views. I saw a few mountain bikers trying to ride up the summit cone. They were struggling!
Slippery Brook trail is a little long but is mostly a nice trail and bypasses the steepest ledges.
I was probably in Maine part of the time. |
