Nash Stream Road is in excellent shape. Of note; Trio Ponds Road has construction going on to fix the dams so has been regraded and fixed in such a manner that even a lower clearance vehicle can likely make it all the way to Trio Pond! We did not investigate further than "Whitcomb Road" but witnessed atleast three vehicles go by us in that direction. We parked at a material pile just at the end of Whitcomb Road. I would not suggest doing this during the week as they may need access to it. |

A FINE day in the forest was had! Congrats to twinkletoes on completing her NH500 highest on this peak. We followed a woods road to a camp for about a half mile before entering the woods, which were generally open. There is some cliff bands to deal with as well as some moss covered boulder fields so you may want to take a more southerly line than you'd like simply to stay out of this stuff and have 'faster' moving. We found ANOTHER moose skull, the third in two days, as well as both mandibles, pelvis and tib/fibs and scapulas. They had been there quite a while so we left most of it, the mandibles and pelvis went home with us, though! Geography of this one is quite interesting, for sure. Nothing really of note, pretty run of the mill! Congrats again to twinkletoes, you've used up 500 excuses to run away into the woods and avoid things... now what? :) 3.5m in 2.5h |
