 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Decent sized lot. Only one other car around 9am on a sunny weekday. |
 | Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant |
 | Recommended Equipment: |
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
I avoided a few of them by bushwhacking- the one I didn't avoid was rock hoppable with some effort. |
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Lots of blowdowns, especially on upper Isolation Trail. Some took more effort than others to get around. Also some overgrowth to brush up against - I was glad to have long sleeves. |
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Didn't see any but I think they'd be ok on these trails. Although they'd be very muddy at the end! |
 | Bugs: |
They are definitely out, although they weren't particularly bothersome until the summit. Up there it was a blackfly apocalypse! |

 | Comments: |
I had planned to take the Iso Express bushwhack, but a sign at the trailhead warning about erosion caused by using popular bushwhacks without snowpack shamed me out of doing that. I did take a couple of smaller bushwhacks to avoid crossing the river so many times. Many sections of the trails were wet which I think is normal for this route. There are lots of rocks and logs to step on so a very graceful person might be able to keep their feet dry. But in my experience, at some point you will probably make a misstep that submerges your foot ankle-deep in mud and/or water. Still a great hike though! |
