Comments
Comments: With the road I thought I would drive in for two short hikes, this turned into an 11 mile adventure. After a short road walk I departed into the open ferny woods, sailed on the seas of hobblebush from Norton Pool towards Prospect, joined the road again NW of Prospect, then took a soggy path through a logged area, then headed up through nice softwood forest for a bit. After signing in, I had to scramble down cliff bands, but made it back to the road quick heading north off the peak, then returned the last few miles fairly quick jogging the roads which looked perfectly fine to drive, though honestly I was enjoying the peace and quiet out there, just the sound of birds. Nice views back at Rump which I hiked earlier. Four hours for the hike, 1600’ of vert, 10.9 miles. These are my last peaks in Pittsburg for the NH 500, with 3 left to finish.
