Two places on the Cascase-Basin trail required wading in knee-deep fast-rushing water. Rock-hopping was not possible. Water was quite cold but refreshing. A walking stick or hiking pole highly advised to help balance while crossing the water. |

 | Comments: |
Views of Mt Lafayette and the adjacent ridgeline were stunning from the Hut. The rain + cold from the night before left the higher elevations of the mountains with a covering of snow, although we didn't see any snow on the Lonesome Lake side. It was cold in the morning but warmed up as the clouds cleared in the mid-day. |
