Gale River Loop Road is bare and dry. The walk to the trailhead goes quick!
Trail is dry for the most part until around the switchbacks at around 3000' I was able to bare boot to the summit, while others put on micro spikes for peace of mind. Not really any kind of well defined monorail, but there is a center area of the trail to stay on to keep away from post holes. A few small minor ares of bare ice, but both can be managed with spikes or walked around with ease. Summit is dry and snow free once on the rocks. Had some great sun and views on the summit. A great hike with impressive views! |
