Planned on Gorge Brook, but the gate was closed at the road (not sure if it stayed closed all day). So I went around to Glencliff. Plenty of running water and mud down low, but mostly navigable on rocks. My feet stayed dry until the posthole segment past South Peak, and after that I gave up caring! Microspikes took a ride, except for the last ΒΌ mile to South Peak. Could be done without them if you're a cool kid, but I'm not as young as I was yesterday! After that, crumbling monorail and posthole fun until you reach full exposure. Not bad, really, for this time of year, and a gorgeous day! |
