Comments
Comments: John and I left the car at 9:25 AM, chatted a bit with one of the trout hatchery guys, then hit the trail. The Bunnell Notch Trail was muddy down low and increasingly snow-covered as we went up. The notch and the ridge above had winter conditions with a well-packed trail and post holes on the sides. We got to the summit at 12:30 and made it back to the car at 3:30. The cabin provided a nice break. We saw neither hikers nor tracks. We did see tracks of snowshoe hares and fisher. Also saw many juncos, along with chickadees.
