Comments
Comments: I went beyond Carter Ledges as far as the nasty downslope section on the upper ledges. There was no snow/ice to speak of until a few avoidable patches on Nickerson Ledge Trail and then Carter Ledge Trail. Lots of slippery oak and beech leaves on the steep hardwood section leading to the Carter Ledges, which were clear of snow/ice. Beyond CL - in the shady deepwoods stretch - there is lots of snow in the woods and on trail. Not really a monorail, but you can easily see the packed track. I didn't bother putting on my microspikes. The upper ledges were clear.
