About three stepover blowdowns on the Main Junction Trail that can be cleared with a hand saw. There were a few blowdowns on the North Peak Trail loop that can again be cleared with a chainsaw...a couple of duck unders. |

 | Comments: |
Increasing clouds in the afternoon with temperatures in the mid 50s.
Trails are completely snow and ice free. Not much mud overall. From reading the trail log, since SLA has closed its trails, it appears a note has been left at the Rattlesnakes to let the public know they can still hike here.
My first time here. All in, the hike to both peaks is about 3.1 miles round trip with roughly 550 feet of elevation gain. A great new option for a short, scenic hike in the Lakes Region—quiet, historic, and well worth a visit. |
