another nice day on Tecumseh. Patchy snow until you get to the third water crossing then pretty consistent harder packed snow and areas of ice. Barebooted up to the ski area lookout and then put on microspikes from there to the top and then back down nearly to the end. Generally the center of the trail is pretty solid, even going off the edges of the trail are not too soft. I highly recommend microspikes or other forms of traction due to the areas of ice. Saw people going up in sneakers, probably not the best idea. As you near the top it gets particularly sketchy where it is kind of a narrow icy monorail along that steep sloped section, if you are careful it's not bad. |
