Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Surprisingly empty lots for such a gorgeous day.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Wet Trail, Ice - Blue, Ice - Breakable Crust, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Snow/Ice - Monorail (Unstable), Snow/Ice - Postholes
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Mostly easy step overs. Still a few ice bridges in place but they won’t be there much longer.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Lots of blowdowns that need clearing out. Things are particularly gnarly right around where it breaks out into the open.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Met a couple of nice pups on the trail. Ours had trouble with one blowdown which we had to go over because the snow was too deep (for the dog) to go around.
Bugs
Bugs:
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: A green sock was at the sign by the cutoff to the parking lot. Also a dog bowl is frozen into the ice by the bench on Crawford Path just before the intersection with Webster Cliff. I’ve needs to melt more before it can be moved.

Comments
Comments: Fantastic day to be out. Mostly unstable monorail and mashed potato snow so spikes are the way to go. There’s some ice, but it’s pitted. Still some deep spots. I post-holed up to mid-thigh when I stood aside to let someone pass. Also note the monorail is super narrow high up and gets gnarly around some downed trees.
