Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parked at Carr Mtn trailhead, which is a plowed spot for two cars right by a house on Clifford Brook Rd in Warren. With it being mud season, there was 2” of new unplowed snow, and it was a little messy. 4 wheel drive is a good idea.

Comments
Comments: Not much snow here so I left snowshoes behind. I heard there was a lot of posted land around here, so I took this longer route, and camped overnight in the National Forest. It was about 7 miles out and back. The land is indeed posted right across the summits. I walked a short ways up the Carr Mtn trailhead before bushwhacking through thick raspberry canes up the heavily logged Clifford Hill. Once I was about 1.5 miles in, I found a nice flat spot in the older woods, and camped for the night. A fresh 2” of snow on the trees made it look like winter, but with temps in the high 20s it was perfect. Nice little lookouts on both summits, but very obviously posted right at the boundary. The jar on Currier is actually beyond the posted signs, but not beyond the red NF blazes, so I went ahead and signed in. No jar found on Ames, unless it could be hidden in the cairn.
